Prime Minister Narendra Modi has left at 7 am on his visit to Russia to attend the BRICS Summit. His visit will last for 2 days. BRICS summit is being held in Kazan city of Russia.

PM Modi is visiting Russia for the second time in the last 4 months. Earlier, he had come to participate in the India-Russia summit in July. PM will attend dinner with BRICS leaders this evening. Will meet Russian President Putin. He may also have informal talks with many leaders.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, PM Modi will participate in the BRICS meeting on Wednesday. It will be held in two sessions. First of all in the morning there will be a closed plenary i.e. a closed room discussion. After this there will be an open plenary in the evening. During this period, PM Modi will also hold bilateral talks with many leaders.

Talks possible with Chinese President after 2 years There is a possibility of talks between PM Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the BRICS summit. The Ministry of External Affairs informed yesterday that an agreement has been reached between India and China regarding patrolling in Ladakh.

According to media reports, in such a situation, talks between PM Modi and Jinping can take place. If this happens then both the leaders will talk to each other after 2 years. The two last met in 2022 during the G20 Summit in Bali, Indonesia.

However, both the leaders had participated in the BRICS summit held in Johannesburg, South Africa last year.

Foreign Minister Jaishankar will join BRICS Plus PM Modi will leave from Russia on 23 October. After this, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar will lead the Indian delegation in the session of BRICS plus countries on 24 October. This session will be on the theme of 'BRICS and Global South'.

A total of 28 countries and 5 international organizations will participate in this summit. After the summit, a joint statement of BRICS countries i.e. Kazan Declaration will be issued. India can also open a new Consulate in Kazan. More than a thousand Indian students live here.

BRICS summit has been held 15 times so far The first summit of BRIC countries was held in 2009. It was organized in Russia. After this, after the joining of South Africa in 2010, its name was changed to BRICS. BRICS summit has been held 15 times so far. This time the 16th summit is being held.

Russia has hosted the BRICS summit three times so far. This will be the fourth time that Putin will chair BRICS.
