In the council school located in Pandhari village of Sumerpur development block of Hamirpur, a student who went to wash the plate after having midday meal, started drowning in the well. Hearing the noise, he was somehow saved by his uncle. It is alleged that the headmaster was busy consuming tobacco. Its video is going viral on social media. However, Amar Ujala does not confirm the viral video.

In the video, a class four student said that on Saturday the headmaster had asked him to wash plates using caste-related words. When the school's hand pump broke down, he went to wash plates in the charhi built there. Meanwhile the plate slipped from the hand and went down. While trying to retrieve it, he fell into the water.

When the students raised an alarm, the uncle present nearby pulled him out. He complained to the headmaster in this regard. On the other hand, in the video, instead of answering the parent, the headmaster was seen rubbing tobacco and eating it. Principal Sunil Srivastava said that he has no information regarding the viral video. BSA Alok Singh said that the matter will be investigated by the Block Education Officer and necessary action will be taken.
