Arab Finance – Signing 4 memorandums of understanding with international companies to enhance petroleum cooperation


Arab FinanceOn the sidelines of the Mediterranean Basin Conference (MOC), currently hosted by the city of Alexandria, Eng. Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, witnessed the signing of 4 memorandums of understanding Cooperation agreements between the petroleum sector and international companies to enhance cooperation in the fields of process safety, energy efficiency, decarbonization, transportation of natural gas and hydrogen, capture, transport and storage of carbon dioxide, sustainable energy, and training of leaders in the field of health, safety and the environment.

A cooperation agreement between EGAS and the Greek company DESFA, which aims to study carbon capture and storage technologies.

The agreement was signed by Eng. Yassin Mohamed Ahmed, Executive Managing Director of EGAS, and Maria Rita, CEO of the Greek company Desfa.

A memorandum of understanding was also signed between the Egyptian Natural Gas Company GASCO and the Greek company Desfa, aiming to enhance cooperation in the field of transporting natural gas and hydrogen, capturing and transporting carbon dioxide, sustainable energy, and re-storing it between Egypt and Greece.

This memorandum includes exchanging expertise and technical knowledge in the fields of gas, hydrogen, and carbon dioxide infrastructure, in addition to studying joint investment opportunities, which enhances Egypt’s role as a regional center for energy trade.

The memorandum of understanding was signed by Eng. Yasser Salah Al-Din, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director of GASCO, and Maria Rita Galli, CEO of DESFA.

On the other hand, a memorandum of understanding was signed between GASCO and American Pecresk, which aims to enhance cooperation between the two companies in the areas of process safety, energy efficiency, and decarbonization.

This cooperation will include the exchange of knowledge and experiences in these fields. In addition, the agreement includes cooperation in:

– Developing advanced software related to process safety, decarbonization and energy efficiency.

– Benefiting from GASCO’s expertise and capabilities in process safety studies, energy efficiency and carbon removal

– Training, awareness and competency raising in the field of process safety and energy efficiency.

This is in various Bakerscress projects inside and outside Egypt.

The agreement was signed on behalf of Gasco by Engineer Yasser Salah El-Din, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director of the company, and on behalf of Bakerrisk Company by Wayne Rebish, the company’s director of international business development and marketing.

A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation and Shell, which aims to train and develop leaders in the field of health, safety and environment in the authority’s affiliated companies in cooperation with Shell through Shell Egypt based on its position as a responsible operator and one of the leading energy companies in health, safety and environment management, and possesses knowledge And experience gained through its projects around the world and decades of developing HSE leadership.

The memorandum was signed by Engineer Salah Abdel Karim, CEO of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation, and Dalia El Gabri, President of Shell Egypt.
