On Sunday night, terrorists attacked laborers working in a company constructing Z Mode Tunnel in Gagangir area near Sonamarg in Ganderbal, killing six laborers and a doctor. Some other workers are injured. Five of them are migrant labourers. The Resistance Front (TRF), an affiliate of terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba, has taken responsibility for the attack.
The terrorists opened fire indiscriminately after reaching the camp of employees of EPCO, a company which was building a tunnel in Gagangir Gund area. In this, two laborers died on the spot, while five other injured were admitted to the hospital. Among the injured, a Kashmiri doctor and four other laborers died during treatment. The deceased have been identified as Dr. Shahnawaz and laborers Faheem Nazir, Kaleem, Mohammad Hanif, Shashi Abrol, Anil Shukla and Gurmeet Singh. Among them, Gurmeet was from Punjab, Anil from Madhya Pradesh and Hanif, Kaleem and Faheem were from Bihar.
