UP By-Polls 2024: Indian National Congress may keep distance from the by-elections being held on 9 seats of Uttar Pradesh. Sources have made this claim. Sources have claimed that the Congress-Samajwadi Party alliance has turned sour. According to sources, angry with the Samajwadi Party offering only two seats out of 9, the Congress is considering not fielding candidates on any seat while keeping distance from the by-elections and allowing the Samajwadi Party to contest all the 9 seats. Congress is also angry with the one-sided announcement of candidates by Samajwadi Party.
Although some leaders of UP Congress are in favor of fielding candidates on all the seats, the greater possibility is that Congress may not field even a single candidate in the by-elections. There is a possibility of an official announcement regarding this on Monday.
