Information and Broadcasting Adviser Nahid Islam argued in favor of canceling National Day and said that Awami League's party days have been imposed as National Day. He acknowledged the importance of the March 7 speech and said it was not like a national day. He said, 'We are not erasing March 7 from history. I am not erasing the importance of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman from history. That which is part of history, will inevitably rewrite history, will have new perspectives… But that practice as a day, it has a politics. The government of mass coup cannot allow that politics to continue.'
