Khoi River

In Habiganj, the water of Khoai river is flowing 195 cm above the flood limit. The water level of this river started to increase from Tuesday night due to few days of rain and mountain streams coming down from India. On Wednesday (August 21) morning, the water level crossed the threshold.

Shamim Hasnain Mahmud, Executive Engineer of Habiganj Water Development Board, said that it has been raining heavily in the Indian state of Tripura for the past two days. Because of this, the water in the river Khoai has started to rise. At noon today, the water of this river was flowing 195 cm above the water line at Machulia point in Habiganj district town and 231.7 cm at Balla point on the India-Bangladesh border.

He also said that the rainfall in Tripura has reduced slightly on Wednesday. It is expected that the water will decrease from tomorrow Thursday. There is no danger of breaking the city defense dam. So far no flood situation has arisen anywhere.
