Himachal Pradesh News: Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has once again expressed concern over the declining level of education in the state. He alleged that the previous BJP government was responsible for the decline in the level of education. Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu on Wednesday inaugurated Block-C building of Government Girls College, Shimla, built at a cost of Rs 9 crore. During this, he expressed concern and said that the objective of the state government is not just to open new institutions. He said that it is also important to provide facilities in these institutions.

Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said, “It is a matter of concern that we have reached 21st place in the country in qualitative education. We have decided that there will be no transfer of teachers in the middle of the academic session. We will have to make policies according to the future challenges. The state government is also making efforts to provide better education in the villages in a phased manner.

Government committed to the upliftment of daughters- CM Sukhu

The Chief Minister said that the government is committed to the upliftment of daughters. Government Girls College, Shimla has been built for the daughters of the state. Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu also mentioned the work being done by the government for the daughters.

Addressing the program, he said that the minimum age for marriage of girls has been increased from 18 years to 21 years. To remove gender inequality, the Himachal Pradesh government has amended the 51-year-old Himachal Pradesh Land Holding Ceiling Act-1972. Under the new law, the adult daughter will have the right to have a separate unit of 150 bigha land in the ancestral property. He said that the state government has made a provision for 30 percent reservation for women in police recruitment. The Chief Minister said that the state government is working for the welfare of daughters.
