Citing the rescued passengers, OC Muhammad Ghiyas Uddin said that late last night, the police received information that several Rohingyas, including Rohingyas, were gathered in the residence of a person in the South Lambri area of ​​Teknaf Sadar Union for the purpose of smuggling them to Malaysia. Later a team of police raided. When the police surrounded the house, five-six people tried to run away. At that time, they were able to arrest three people with a chase, but the others escaped. Later, 12 Rohingyas and 8 Bangladeshi citizens including women and children were rescued by searching the residence.

OC Muhammad Ghiyas Uddin said, an organized gang involved in human trafficking has become active by sea. The members of the gang, including the arrested brokers, mobilized the rescued victims to smuggle them to Malaysia in return for huge sums of money.
