After Talbahana, Bangladesh's interim government allowed the export of hilsa to India just before Durga Puja. Bangladesh Ministry of Commerce has given permission to export 2420 tons of hilsa this year. Finally, 533 tons of hilsa were exported to India. It is about 20 percent of the total approval. According to sources from the Ministry of Commerce and the Customs Department of Bangladesh, from Saturday midnight to November 3, catching, stocking or storing and marketing of hilsa in the sea and river is prohibited for 22 days. Before that, the permitted period for exporting hilsa fish to India has passed.

From September 26 to October 12 night, 533 metric tons of hilsa were exported to India. Its price is 53 lakh 30 thousand US dollars (63 crore 96 lakh taka in Bangladeshi currency).

But 802 tons of hilsa were exported. According to the National Board of Revenue (NBR), only 530,000 tonnes of hilsa have been exported to India in the last 5 years.
