The roots of this conspiracy were in a long running dispute regarding Waqf properties.
These arrests made by the police came after a thorough investigation, which used technical analysis, ground intelligence and interrogation of key suspects. Police say that this case has exposed a conspiracy which was allegedly woven over a long period of time and was carried out after monitoring the daily activities of the victim for months.
What was revealed in the police investigation?
According to investigators, tensions over the management and control of Waqf properties in Malakpet and Lakdikapul areas have led to several legal battles over the years. These disputes reportedly included civil suits, criminal cases and cases before the Waqf Tribunal. Police believe that this long struggle ultimately turned into a criminal conspiracy, the aim of which was to eliminate the lawyer.
During the investigation, Mujahid Alam Khan and his father Mehboob Alam Khan were identified as the masterminds of this alleged conspiracy. Police allege that a contract worth Rs 15 lakh was fixed to carry out the murder. The plan reportedly passed through several middlemen to those who were assigned the task of carrying out the attack. Investigators say that many people were involved in this network, who played different roles, from coordination and gathering equipment to surveillance and carrying out murders.

Hyderabad Police got this big success when the police traced one of the accused, Kishan alias Pappu, in Panipat, Haryana. Following his arrest, investigators reportedly received vital information that helped identify other suspects and establish links between those allegedly involved in the conspiracy. Subsequent operations led to arrests at various locations in Hyderabad, including the detention of key suspects from residential areas of the city.
Police gave information about the roles of the accused
Police allege that the members of this gang had conducted a detailed reconnaissance of the victim’s daily routine for several months before the attack. Investigators have also identified specific roles assigned to individual accused, including arranging the vehicle, coordinating movement, tracking the target and being directly involved in the commission of the crime.
