Arab Finance: Dr. Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, received at the Ministry’s headquarters in the Administrative Capital, Leodoros Skilakakis, Greek Minister of Environment and Energy, and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of Nicholas Papagiorgio, Greek Ambassador to Cairo, and Engineer Sabah Mashaly, Deputy Minister, to discuss developments in the implementation of the project. Electrical connection between Egypt and Greece In light of the support that the project enjoys from the government in the two countries, a meeting was held to discuss ways to support and enhance partnership and cooperation in the fields of electricity, renewable energy, green hydrogen, technological innovation, transfer of expertise, and maximizing the project’s returns in the fields of industry, development, and sustainability.

The meeting discussed the latest developments in the implementation of the project to connect the electricity networks in Egypt and Greece and the importance of the project as part of the European-African interconnection project, which aims to enhance energy security and exchange clean electricity between the two continents, within the framework of the vision of the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy to diversify energy sources and the energy mix strategy and reliance on energies. New and renewable investment opportunities available in this field, and support and support for the private sector to establish clean energy projects within the framework of the general policy of reducing fuel consumption and reducing carbon emissions.
