The mystery of the dead body of an unidentified youth found in Preet Vihar area of East Delhi has finally been solved. The joint team of police has arrested a total of four accused including three minors in this blind murder case. Initial investigation has revealed that the reason for the murder was a dispute over mutual looting money.
Disclosing the matter, East District DCP Abhishek Dhaniya said that on January 22, during beat patrolling at Preet Vihar police station, information was received about the dead body of a youth lying near the railway underpass. This body was found on PPG Road near Hotel Mona International. As soon as the information was received, the police team reached the spot and the area was surrounded.
There were serious injury marks on the body
Police found deep injury marks on the youth’s stomach, face, neck and head on the spot. Considering the circumstances, suspicion of murder was raised. After this, the body was sent to the mortuary of LBS Hospital for postmortem and a case of murder was registered and investigation was started.
There was a bloody dispute over the looted money
During investigation, the accused made shocking revelations during interrogation. The accused told that they along with the deceased used to commit crimes like theft and snatching. All the accused were addicted to drinking alcohol. There was a fight among themselves over the distribution of money and goods recovered from the loot, which later turned violent. Meanwhile, the young man was attacked and murdered with stones and knives.
CCTV footage reveals layers of murder
A joint team of Preet Vihar police station, Narcotics Cell and special staff was formed to arrest the accused. The footage of CCTV cameras installed nearby was scrutinized. Some suspicious activities were revealed in the footage, on the basis of which the police was successful in reaching the main accused.
Police arrested Aman alias Raju, aged 22 years, resident of Mandawali. On his information, three other minors were also detained, whose age is said to be 16 and 14 years. During interrogation, the deceased was identified as Deva, aged 25, who was a resident of Kanpur and was living under the railway underbridge in Mandawali area.
Accused caught after absconding
After the murder, all the accused fled from the spot. However, due to continuous investigation and technical investigation by the police, everyone was finally caught. At present, the police is busy interrogating the accused and further investigation.
