US President Donald Trump has further relaxed tariffs on Brazilian products in an effort to reduce consumer costs for his countrymen. This decision will affect many other items including coffee, fruits and beef.
The White House, the official residence and office of the US President, had said last week that Trump was withdrawing some of the tariffs announced in April. Brazil, however, says it has no impact on the tariffs that Trump imposed in July as punishment in response to legal action taken against his political ally, former President Jair Bolsonaro. Trump and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva are in talks on trade, which is likely to lead to further reduction in tariffs.
