Bahraich Violence: Tension has increased due to the incident of firing and stone pelting during the immersion of the idol of Goddess Durga in Bahraich, UP on Sunday. Protests were seen at many places against this incident till late night. On which CM Yogi Adityanath gave instructions for strict action. After this incident, the SHO and the post in-charge have been suspended. 25 people have been arrested and they are being interrogated.
In this case, late night the police officers took action against the responsible officers and suspended the SHO of Hardi police station and the in-charge of Mahsi outpost. Preliminary investigation by the police has revealed that the SHO and the station in-charge were negligent in this matter, due to which the ruckus increased and the atmosphere deteriorated.
25 people were arrested
It is alleged that when the dispute between the two parties escalated, the police present at the spot remained a mute spectator. Even SO was not present on the spot. When the people of the puja committee protested against the incident of stone pelting during the immersion yatra, the police lathi charged those people. After which there was a stampede, after which the tension increased further. Police have also arrested 25 people from both sides in this case. Who are being interrogated.

Giving information about this, SP Vrinda Shukla said that a miscreant named Salman and others have been named in connection with this incident. Other accused are being identified. Teams have been dispatched to arrest the accused. After convincing the administrative officials, the immersion of the idols has started. After the uproar, the immersion of about 1100 idols was stopped in this area. After the arrest of the accused, the people of Ramlila Committee started immersing the idols.
Actually, an idol immersion procession was taking place from Maharajganj town to Rehua Mansoor village in Hardi police station area of Bahraich, when some people from other community raised objection about the DJ at that place, after which the dispute escalated and stone pelting and firing started. After which the ruckus increased between both the sides. Ram Gopal Mishra (22), resident of Rehua Mansoor village, was injured in this uproar. Later he died during treatment.

The Chief Minister has instructed the officials to identify the miscreants and take strictest action and after communicating with the religious organizations, asked them to get the idol immersed in time. CM Yogi said that administration and police officials should be present on the spot and those whose negligence led to the incident should be identified and action should be taken.
