The NCP wants the change of new constitution and political structure

After the launch, the National Citizens Party (NCP), a young party of youth, led the July coup, demanded rewritten the constitution. Leaders of the party say that the political culture that is currently prevailing in the country has to be radically changed. This requires new constitution or rewrite. Only the election of the Constituent Assembly legalize the constitution. Without the election of the Constituent Assembly, the constitution will not be sustainable.

The first program of the NCP was paid homage to the National Memorial last Tuesday after its debut on February 26. On that day, the party's convenor Nahid Islam said, “The election of the People's Council and the Jatiya Sangsad elections may be together. It will be possible to build new structures and new Bangladesh. Through the election of the People's Council, a new constitution will help in the real democratic process. '

Referring to the old constitution and the old governance, it is not possible to build a new Bangladesh, Nahid Islam added, “We have to make a new republic and it requires a new constitution and the People's Council.”

Many leaders of the Jatiya Citizens Party's policy -making level have said that the National Citizens Party is talking about changing the political structure. Leaders of the party think that the current political structure 'good' people into 'bad' and 'small' fascists into 'big' fascist. So the whole political structure needs a change. Without this change, the passage of the democratic process is not possible, they said.

NCP senior joint convener Samanta Sharmin told today's newspaper, “There will be no opportunity to rewrite the constitution through the parliamentary elections. The only public council election gives that validity. So the People's Council is our first target. We said, first judgment, then reform, then election.

This is the ongoing process. However, if the Awami League leaders and activists are not judged, it will create a big crisis in the elections. '

Stating that all the organizations associated with the elections are reformed and strengthened, Samanta said, “We are talking about changing the structure. No human being can be good in this structure. If this structure does not change, the peaceful democratic process will not be able to begin. '

However, political analysts see such a major obstacle to such an attempt to make such a new party's position. They say the judicial process and reform of the Awami League – both are long -term issues. These have to be done on the basis of consensus. If the new party takes a different position in this regard, they said they could become 'lonely' politically.

Professor of Political Science at Dhaka University. Sabbir Ahmed said, “They will not be able to unilaterally impose the opinion they are giving. Violence will be created only if it is imposed. Their purpose will also be made doubtful. ' He said the party has not yet made such public interest. Now even if they put their position in a noisy situation at the national level, their efforts may fail at the beginning.
