Effigies of Ravana, Meghnad and Kumbhakarna were burnt on the day of Vijayadashami on Saturday in the historic Gandhi Maidan of Gaya. There was a crowd of thousands of people to watch the killing of Ravana. Shobha Yatra was taken out through Dussehra Committee. Shri Ram's procession reached Gandhi Maidan, after which people chanted Shri Ram. After this the effigy was burnt. Ravana Dahan is being organized in Gaya since 1953 through Dussehra Puja Committee. Ravana killing program was organized amidst tight security arrangements. During this period, strong security arrangements were seen.
Ravana Dahan was done in Nawada through Chakraborty Samrat Durga Puja Committee. This program was organized at Harichand Stadium in Nawada, where RJD leader Shravan Kushwaha, DM and SP and many officials were present. The crowd of Ravana slaying program has been estimated at 50 thousand. In view of the crowd, strict security arrangements were made. The crowd was being monitored through drone cameras. A police officer and a magistrate were appointed by the district administration regarding the killing of Ravana.
In Buxar, on Saturday, the day of Vijayadashami, 45 feet effigies of Meghnath and Ravana were burnt in the historical fort grounds at around 5 pm. This time six gates and one emergency gate were built for the movement of devotees. 45 magistrates were deployed at the venue and 60 magistrates were deployed in the entire city. 250 security personnel and police officers were deployed. Magistrates were present in the security of the entire city as well as the fort grounds. Thousands of people were present on this occasion.
On the other hand, the Ravana effigy burning program was completed at 8 pm at Ramna Maidan in Arrah. The mighty Ravana burst into flames due to the arrows shot by Bhojpur District Magistrate Tanay Sultania and SP Raj. The sound of firecrackers started being heard and Ravana started burning amid the loud noise. Cheers of Jai Shri Ram, Jai Shri Ram started being heard in the entire Ramna field. Lord Shri Ram killed Ravana among thousands of people. An atmosphere of happiness was seen among the people on this holy festival of victory of religion over unrighteousness.
Like every year in Supaul, this year also Vijayadashami ceremony, symbolizing the victory of truth over untruth, was celebrated with great pomp at Gandhi Maidan. Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram killed Ravana and Meghnad in the presence of millions of spectators. Gandhi Maidan echoed with the slogan of Shri Ram, when the monkey army was the first to burn Lanka. After that, Shri Ram killed Meghnad with the arrow of fire. When the time came for Ravana's burning, the entire ground once again echoed with slogans of Jai Shri Ram.
On the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami, a grand procession was organized in Supaul, in which a large number of devotees participated. A wonderful sight was seen during the journey, when flowers were showered on the bulldozer. Municipal Council Chief Councilor Raghavendra Jha was welcomed by garlanding the bulldozer, which remained the center of attraction among the devotees.
Today, on the day of Vijayadashami, huge effigies of 55 feet high Ravana and 50 feet high Meghnad were burnt at Rajendra Stadium in Chapra. During this event, a crowd of thousands of people enjoyed this program. During this time attractive fireworks were also done. Shri Ram, Lakshman and Hanuman reached Rajendra Stadium riding on the chariot. As soon as Lakshman shot his arrow at Meghnad, the effigy of Meghnad burnt to ashes within a few minutes. When Shri Ram released his arrow aiming at Ravana's navel, Ravana's effigy was completely burnt to ashes.
On the occasion of Vijayadashami festival in East Champaran district, Ravana Dahan programs are being organized continuously for about 21 years in Nayagaon of Kesariya police station area. A 51 feet effigy of Ravana was burnt on Saturday evening. Where a huge crowd of people had gathered. At the time of burning the effigy of Ravana, everyone clapped and congratulated Vijayadashami and made the whole area echo with slogans of Jai Shri Ram. During this period, strict security arrangements were made by the district administration.
