Tainted and corrupt officers will be retired! PM Modi gave instructions for action


PM Modi Order For Union Secretaries: In its third term, the Modi government is preparing to identify corrupt and lazy officers and employees and forcibly retire them. Prime Minister Narendra Modi Has directed ministers and secretaries to work in mission mode to ensure transparency in the functioning of ministries. This instruction was given in the meeting of the Council of Ministers, where PM Modi stressed on intensifying the campaign against corruption.

Citing the Central Civil Services (CCS) rules, Prime Minister Modi has directed the Union Secretaries to evaluate the employees and take immediate action against those who complain against them. He has also emphasized that an honest and working government is rewarded by the people in elections. Citing the electoral success of BJP in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir, he stressed on quick resolution of public grievances and better governance.

'Complaints should be resolved immediately'

According to sources, Modi has directed officials and ministers to ensure that files are not pushed from one desk to another, but they are resolved quickly. The PM has also asked officials to devote one day a week to resolving complaints and monitoring the progress of ministers of state. He also said that officers and employees working in ministries should work towards making life easier for the people. Immediate action should be taken on complaints.

'The public has hope from this government'

Modi has said that officers and employees who are identified as corrupt or lazy should be removed from service. Sources said Modi said that in the last 10 years, the PMO had received 4.5 crore letters including complaints from people, whereas in the last five years of Manmohan Singh's tenure, only 5 lakh such letters were received.

He emphasized that people are more optimistic about redressal of complaints. PM Modi said that about 40 percent of these cases were related to the departments and agencies of the Central Government, while the remaining 60 percent cases were related to the State Government.
