According to tradition, Mahasaptami puja was also held in Bangladesh on Thursday. However, this time there is less puja than last year.
According to the Bangladesh Police, 32 thousand 666 puja mandaps have been held this year. Among them there are 8098 very important mandapas. More than 75,000 policemen and more than 2,12,000 Ansar members have been deployed for the security of these pavilions. However, President of Bangladesh Puja Udjakar Parishad Vasudev Dhar said that Durga Puja was performed in 32 thousand 408 mandaps across the country and 248 mandaps in Dhaka city last year. Durga Puja is being performed in 31 thousand 461 mandaps this year.
On the other hand, on the occasion of Durga Puja, the chief adviser of the interim government of Bangladesh, Mohammad Yunus, has congratulated all the Hindu community. He said, 'Durga Puja is not only a festival of the Hindu community. It has now become a universal festival.'
