DM Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh: There is a lot of fanfare regarding Dussehra in Patna, Bihar. Here on Ashtami day, a huge crowd was seen in all the puja pandals of the city. Meanwhile, today on Thursday (October 10), Patna District Magistrate Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh took stock of the preparations for the Ravana killing program to be held at Gandhi Maidan. After inspection, he said that the main program will be held on the day of Vijayadashami at Gandhi Maidan, where security arrangements are tight.

128 CCTV cameras have been installed

On the preparations for Dussehra, Patna DM Chandrashekhar Singh said, “The main program of Ravana Dahan is on 12th at Gandhi Maidan. The main program that will be held at Gandhi Maidan has been briefed today. We have seen all the preparations. The preparations are almost complete.” 128 CCTV cameras have been installed. Apart from this, we are installing 50 more CCTV cameras.

DM Chandrashekhar further said that arrangements for drinking water and medical team have been made here and the fire brigade team is fully alert. Our efforts are to ensure that the people who come here do not face any kind of inconvenience, for this we are making special arrangements. We are in touch with the committee, our preparations are complete and it is our endeavor that the program be conducted very well.

The program is being held at Gandhi Maidan in Patna since 1955.

Let us tell you that since 1955, the Ravana killing program is being organized at Gandhi Maidan in Patna. It will be 69 years this year. It happened three times when Ravana was not killed, although every year hundreds of people try to reach Gandhi Maidan and participate in the program. The police administration also makes complete security arrangements here. The effigy is burnt with utmost care. This time the effigy of Ravana will be 80 feet high, while the effigy of Kumbhkaran will be 70 feet high and the effigy of Meghnath will be 55 feet high.
