Referring to ISKCON, BNP Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan said, “What an organization is doing recently, I don't even want to name them.” They have branches in different countries of the world. In which other country except Bangladesh do they march with demands and announce long march? Why is it here (Bangladesh)? After the fall of Sheikh Hasina without protesting the torture and oppression that has been done for so many years, why should this movement be done with the arrival of the new government?
He said, as people of this country, they requested the government of India to take action in this regard. I did not see any statement that thousands of people were killed in July-August. There is no statement that the advocate was killed. It is biased to give a statement if you arrest one person, but not to give a statement if you kill thousands of people.
He made this comment in the speech of the chief guest at a discussion meeting at the National Press Club on Friday (November 29). On the occasion of the 43rd founding anniversary of the Bangladesh Khilafat Movement, this discussion meeting titled 'What we should do to fight fascism and its minions' was held.
Nazrul Islam Khan called for unity among all existing political organizations in the country to fight against the fascist regime. He said, those who are fighting against fascism in Bangladesh should unite. Fascism cannot be defeated without a united effort. We have a responsibility to restore democracy in the country. The blood of those who gave their lives for democracy cannot be dishonored.
He also said that our main responsibility in restoring democracy is to arrange fair elections. The current government is playing a farce in the name of election by taking power by force. The duty of an interim government is to organize fair elections, in which the views of the people are accurately reflected.
The meeting was presided over by Senior Nayeb Amir Alhaj Mohammad Azam Khan of Bangladesh Khilafat Movement. Mufti Enayet Ullah Hafezji, Central Joint Secretary General of the organization, Mufti Fakhrul Islam and other leaders were present.
