MS Dhoni Ancestral Village: The ancestral village of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, former captain of the Indian team and popularly known as Captain Cool, is in Lwali village of Almora district of Uttarakhand. Mahendra Singh Dhoni reached his native village in 2023. After reaching the village, he went to the temples and worshiped the favorite deities. Dhoni has visited his native village before also. Talking to Local 18, Dhoni's aunt and brother told that he had come to their village in the year 2003-04.
Dhoni's sacred thread ceremony took place in this house
Mahendra Singh Dhoni's aunt Geeta Dhoni told that his sacred thread ceremony was performed in this house. He was very happy when Mahendra Singh Dhoni returned to his home after 20 years. Mahendra Singh Dhoni's aunt Panuli Devi told that Dhoni's sacred thread ceremony was performed in this room. At that time everyone was engrossed in the program and there was a lot of happiness. She said that this time when Dhoni had come to the village, she was not in the village but her family members had met Dhoni.
Dal and rice were eaten in the sacred thread ceremony
Dhoni's brother Deepak Singh Dhoni told that the sacred thread ceremony of Dhoni and his elder brother took place here. Dhoni used to play Ranji during that time. In his sacred thread ceremony, he enjoyed dal, rice, puri and all the Kumaoni dishes. The entire family is very proud of Dhoni's success.

Village head of Lwali Dinesh Singh Dhoni told that Dhoni's jersey number is 7 and the house number in his native village is also 7. For this reason, many people also associate Dhoni's jersey with the house in his native village.
