Animation and visual effects or VFX have become important in many industries these days. Animation has developed many fields including gaming, content creation, branding, virtual simulation. As a result, the demand for animation and VFX in the technology world has skyrocketed. Among the students of Bangladesh, the interest to learn them is also increasing. Animation Club started at BUET to teach animation and VFX to students.
It is said to be the first digital content creation club for animation and VFX in an educational institution in the country. In January this year, a group of students and teachers of BUET started this club called BUET Animata. University students do not need any previous experience to join this club. 3D modeling, animation and VFX will be taught here.
Buet Animata aims to bring the stories of the imaginative mind to the creativity of animation and visual effects. BUET students who dream of a creative career in animation, film, gaming or digital media have the opportunity to learn on the job here.
Buet Animata Club Committee is formed with more than 50 members. SM Sakif Sunny is the president of the club. The moderator is the head professor of BUET Biomedical Engineering Department. Muhammad Tariq Arafat. Apart from that, several students are in charge of managing the club. Many of them are skilled in animation and VFX.
Sakif Sunny, founder president of the club, said, 'BUET Animator members see the club as more than just a place to learn; Rather see it as a family. Members often collaborate with each other on various projects, exchange ideas among themselves; Which enhances their skills and gives rise to new ideas. Every event and workshop builds camaraderie among members.'

Buet Animata organizes 3D modeling workshops. The first workshop of the club was held in the design lab of the biomedical engineering department in February this year.
