How Nvidia's CEO wooed his future wife

One of the most well-known names in the world of technology is Jensen Huang, the founder and CEO of chip maker Nvidia. But not only the success of Nvidia is the story of his whole life, but also a romantic and funny chapter of Huang's college life. When Huang, a 17-year-old college student, tries to woo his 19-year-old future wife, Lori Huang, the odds are not in his favor. However, Huang's smart tactics and confidence soon win Lori over.

Jenson Huang revealed his strategy for winning over his older wife while receiving an honorary degree from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology last week. He said, I was the youngest boy in the class. The college had 250 students, including 3 girls.

Huang also said he was the only student who had a 'childish look'.

Huang tries to befriend his future wife with his baby's appearance. He tells his future wife that there is a deal to be made if he wants to see Huang's homework. “If you do your homework with me every Sunday, I promise you, you'll get an A,” he said.

Since then, Huang has been dating Lori every Sunday. Huang told Laurie that he would become a CEO at the age of 30.

According to Huang's biography on Oregon State University's College of Engineering website, Huang married Lori Mills five years after first meeting. They have two children, Madison and Spencer. Madison is Nvidia's director of marketing and Spencer is Nvidia's senior product manager.

After graduating from Oregon State University (OSU) in 1984, Huang worked at the chip company LSI Logic and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD). He then began earning a master's degree in electrical engineering at Stanford University in 1992 and founded Nvidia a year later in 1993. The artificial intelligence (AI) revolution has made the company a $3.48 trillion company today.

Huang was 30 years old when he founded Nvidia.

The CEO often shares the story of Nvidia's founding. He was eating with his friends at Denny's restaurant in the United States, when the idea of establishing a graphics company came to his mind. In a 2010 New York Times interview, Huang said he worked as a waiter at Denny's as a student.

Currently, Huang's net worth is estimated at $124 billion.

Jenson Huang's signature style—the black leather jacket. He credits his wife and daughter for this. In an interview last year on US multinational company HP's online show 'The Moment', host Ryan Patel asked Huang, 'Did you ever think sitting at Denny's that you would become a style icon in the future?' But now you are the style star. What do you think about it?'

'Don't make that about me,' replied Huang with a smile. I am happy that my wife and daughter help me to dress like this.
