Tension has increased once again amid reports of a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon's Hezbollah. On Sunday, Hezbollah launched its biggest attack on Israel in 13 months since October 7, 2023. Hezbollah attacked Israel with more than 250 missiles and drones.
Not only this, for the first time Hezbollah also targeted Israeli intelligence bases in the Israeli capital Tel Aviv. There are reports of many casualties in these attacks.
Actually, this attack by Hezbollah is a response to the ongoing Israeli attacks in Lebanon's capital Beirut for the last one week. More than 63 people, including Hezbollah spokesperson Mohammad Afif, have been killed in these attacks. 29 Lebanese were killed and more than 65 were injured in the attack in Beirut on Saturday.
Israeli tanks had to retreat due to Hezbollah attacks
Hezbollah's attack was so severe that Israeli tanks and troops were forced to retreat from a strategic hill in the al-Bayda area of southern Lebanon. Hezbollah also attacked with several anti-tank missiles.
Hezbollah also targeted an Israeli military base near the city of Haifa. Hezbollah said it also hit the Jwalun Military Industries base, north of Haifa, with missiles.
Hezbollah has claimed that for the first time it attacked the Ashdod naval base in southern Israel using drones. Iran has also threatened to attack Israel.
The Israeli government has not provided information about the number of people killed and the damage caused by Hezbollah's attacks on Sunday.
