Pentagon officials said mysterious drones were seen over three US military bases in the UK. These bases are used by the US military. Pentagon officials have expressed concern over reports of unidentified flying objects near military bases. This information is known from a report of the Washington Times, a conservative media outlet in the United States on Sunday.
The United States Royal Air Force (RAF) has three military bases in the United Kingdom. Located in Lakenhealth, Mildenhall, and Feltwell in Suffolk County, these three military bases are operated by members of the US Air Force. The United States operated them primarily as an important part of their war power in Europe.
A few days before this incident, a Defense Department report revealed that between May and June 1, 2023, at least 18 unidentified drone-like objects flew over US nuclear facilities, weapons and launch bases. Earlier, a mysterious swarm of drones flew over Langley Air Force Base in Virginia.
Pentagon officials have released little information about the nature of the drones seen in the UK. However, they said, after the drones were detected, their movements were monitored.
The US Air Force says, 'In the interests of security, we will not comment on the details of the security measures. But we retain the right to protect the security of the bases. We continue to monitor our airspace.'
The British Ministry of Defense said, 'We do not take any threat seriously and maintain strict security measures at military bases. Anti-drone technology is also used in this case. But we will not comment on security measures.'
Experts believe that China or Russia, the enemy of the United States, can use these drones to gather intelligence.
In recent years there has been an increase in the number of reports of unidentified flying objects (UFOs) from US military pilots and commercial pilots. From May to June 2023, more than 700 reports of unidentified flying objects (UFOs) were received by the Pentagon. In at least three of these incidents, these drones are said to have followed US military aircraft.
Some quarters also say that UFOs may be extraterrestrial or alien type. But the Pentagon's All Domain Anomaly Office (which investigates unidentified flying objects in the sky) says, 'There has been no evidence of extraterrestrial or alien-type activity, technology or existence so far.'
Experts say such incidents pose new challenges to the security of US military installations. Which, may cause great concern in the international arena.
