Bangladesh Bank officials held a sit-in demanding the resignation of two deputy governors, Norun Nahar and Habibur Rahman, who were appointed on contractual basis during the Awami League government.

Complaining that the honest and qualified employees could not work properly due to the threat of transfer, this official of the bank said, 'Bangladesh Bank has been destroyed with the help of the government. The two deputy governors who were appointed on contractual basis helped in this.
He said, we got a new Bangladesh in the movement of students and people. I am not able to do the desired reforms that I want to do in the central bank in new Bangladesh. Because Awami League continued their authority from where it was during the government.
He mentioned, Bangladesh Bank employees who are helping the looters should be transferred quickly.
Director of Foreign Exchange Operations Department. Bayezdi Sarkar said that on August 7, Central Bank officials and employees at all levels made various demands. All contractual appointments during the previous government should be phased out. However, it has not yet been fully implemented.

After the fall of the government, some of the central bank officials resigned in the face of the agitation, but two deputy governors were retained temporarily. The condition was that they would leave after a month when the new deputy governor took over. But some of the autocrats are trying to keep these deputy governors in their posts. They are still in place, not only in place but also sitting with administrative and HR responsibilities of the Central Bank. The deputy governor is trying to save his friends.
