A pilot of the Saudi flag carrier Saudia Airlines is floating in the tide of praise for landing the plane in London with great skill in a severe storm. Gulf News reported on Monday that the powerful Storm Bart, which hit Britain, brought heavy snow and rain and strong winds. The storm also caused major disruptions in communications.
A video shared by the Saudi Gazette shows how the pilot managed to maintain control of the plane despite the adverse weather conditions. The plane was rocking badly due to the strong winds of the storm. Still the pilot landed the plane safely with great skill.
It has been reported that 'Storm Bart' has caused extensive damage in the UK and Ireland. Heavy snow, rain and strong winds disrupted travel systems in parts of northern England and Scotland. Flights from Newcastle Airport are diverted to Belfast and Edinburgh. Apart from this, many roads were closed to traffic and train services were also cancelled.
The professionalism and confidence of Saudia pilots in adverse conditions like storms is seen as a unique example.
