A Jubo League leader filed a case against Awami League presidium member and former Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain in Mirsrai, Chittagong. 20 people including his eldest son Sabedur Rahman Sosu have been accused in the case. Also, this case has been filed against 25-30 people.
The plaintiff of the case is the joint-editor of Katachra Union Jubo League. Yusuf Mia. The case was filed at Zorarganj police station on Saturday (November 24).
According to the statement of the case, on February 12, 2022, the attack was carried out to kill the plaintiff in the case. Engineer Mosharraf Hossain's leadership attacked him when he protested about various irregularities.
The other defendants in the case are the former mayor of Baryarhat Municipality, Rezaul Karim Khokon (52), Md. Ashraf (28), Md. Arif (35), Md. Kashem Peter (62), Md. Zia Uddin Gazi (30) and others.
Plaintiff Jubo League leader Md. Yusuf Miah said that even after 12 years of active politics while Awami League was in power, I was accused in seven cases due to party conflict. The cases were ordered by Engineer Mosharraf Hossain. Currently, I am on bail in all but one of the cases.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Zorarganj police station ATM Shifatul Mazdar said that engineer Mosharraf Hossain was the main accused in the attack in 2022. Yusuf Miah filed the case as the plaintiff. Efforts are on to arrest the accused.
