The schedule of the tournament was scheduled to be announced at an event in Lahore on November 11 this year, but the event was canceled by the ICC at the last moment. Because, the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) told the ICC that the Indian cricket team will not go to Pakistan due to the lack of permission from the government.

They will go to neighboring Afghanistan on November 26. The Afghans will have the trophy till November 28. The trophy will be 'at rest' before coming to Bangladesh. The Champions Trophy will be held in Bangladesh from 10 to 13 December.
