Russia's Defense Ministry claims its air defense forces shot down two British Storm Shadow cruise missiles. This information was given in a report published on Thursday (November 21) about the situation of the last 24 hours.
In a statement, the air defense force shot down two British-made Storm Shadow cruise missiles, six US-made Himmers rockets and 67 drones.
On Wednesday, pro-Russian military bloggers posted photos of the wreckage of the Storm Shadow missile on Telegram. They claim that the remains were found in the village of Marino in the Kursk region of Russia. However, the Russian Defense Ministry did not release any detailed information on Thursday.
The Storm Shadow missile is manufactured by European missile manufacturer MBDA. The company combines missile technology from France, the UK and Italy.
MBDA said the Storm Shadow/SCALP is an aircraft-launched long-range weapon capable of hitting fixed and critical targets. It has been used in the Gulf War, Iraq and Libya.
A spokesman for British Prime Minister Keir Starmer declined to comment on Wednesday.
Earlier, the UK allowed Ukraine to use Storm Shadow missiles. But the condition was that they should be used only inside Ukrainian territory. The range of this missile is more than 250 km.
