The government has reconstituted the executive committee of the National Freedom Fighters Council (JAMUCA) and the Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust. The Ministry of Liberation War has published two gazettes in this regard on Wednesday.
An 11-member National Freedom Fighters Council has been formed for the next three years with Farooq E. Azam as the chairman.
Secretary of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, Major General (retd) Azizur Rahman Bir Uttam, Captain (retd) Nurul Huda, Major (retd) Syed Munibur Rahman, Major (retd) Qayyum Khan, Istiaq Aziz Ulfat, Sadek Ahmed Khan, Habibul Alam. Vir Prateek and Kh M Amir Ali have been made members of Jamuka. The Director General of the National Freedom Fighters Council will serve as the Member Secretary in the Council.
On the other hand, the Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust's 9-member executive committee has also made the adviser on liberation war affairs the president. Major General (retd) Jamil D Ahsan Bir Prateek, Monowarul Islam, Colonel (retd) Mahmudur Rahman Chowdhury, Major (retd) Mizanur Rahman have been kept as members of the committee.
Secretaries of Finance Department, Ministry of Industry and Ministry of Liberation War Affairs will serve as members in the committee. Managing Director of Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust will be in charge of Member Secretary.
