World Bank-ADB to provide $1100 million loan by December


Finance Secretary said that the IMF and World Bank have given a comprehensive solution to the policies of the interim government. Md. Khairuzzaman Majumdar. He said that we are getting much more money from IMF and World Bank than our original plan.

Finance Secretary Khairuzzaman Majumdar said that by December this year, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) will provide 600 million dollars and the World Bank will provide 500 million dollars in loan assistance.

He gave this information at a press conference in the multipurpose conference room of the finance department organized by the finance ministry at the secretariat on Tuesday (November 19). Finance Ministry organized this press conference on the occasion of 100 days of interim government.

At this time Finance Advisor Salehuddin Ahmed, Financial Institutions Department Secretary Najma Mubarak, Economic Relations Department (ERD) Secretary Md. Shahriar Quader Siddiqui and Chairman of the National Board of Revenue (NBR). Abdur Rahman Khan was present.

In response to a question from journalists, Finance Secretary Khairuzzaman Majumdar said that the IMF and the World Bank have given a comprehensive solution to the policies being adopted by the interim government. We are getting much more money than we originally planned.

The finance secretary also said that the negotiation of a loan of 600 million dollars with ADB has already been done. We will get this money by December. A loan of 500 million dollars has been negotiated with the World Bank. We will get this also by December.

He said, the actual amount of these two loans was 300 and 250 million dollars. That means we are getting double double both.
