Ireland series Bangladesh team, minus 4 cricketers


Bangladesh girls will play 50 over match after eight months. BCB announced the squad for the three-match ODI series against Ireland yesterday. Batter Taj Nehar and left-arm spinner Sanjida Akhter Meghla, who are waiting for their ODI debut, got a chance in the 15-member team.

Taj Nehar was also in the 2024 T20 World Cup squad. Meghla played his last international match against Pakistan in November last year. Bangladesh girls last played ODI series against Australia in March this year.

Four cricketers—Farzana Akhtar, Disha Biswas, Sumaiya Akhtar and Nishita Akhtar Nishi—were dropped from the Australia series squad. Bangladesh-Ireland first ODI on November 27. The two teams will play the second ODI on November 30 and the third and final ODI on December 2. All the matches of the series will be played at Mirpur Sherbangla Stadium.

A three-match T20 series will be played after the ODI. The matches of T20 series will be on 5, 7 and 9 December. Irish girls will step foot in Dhaka on November 22. Negara Sultana Jyotira have lost their last three ODI series. This is the opportunity to turn around in their own field.

Bangladesh ODI Team: Nigar Sultana Jyoti (captain), Nahida Akhtar (vice-captain), Murshida Khatun, Farzana Haque, Sharmin Akhtar Supta, Sobhana Mostari, Swarna Akhtar, Ritu Mani, Rabeya Khan, Fahima Khatun, Marufa Akhtar, Jahanara Alam, Sultana Khatun, Taj Nehar and Sanjida Akhtar Meghla.
