An ordinance has been issued making the age limit for entry into government service a maximum of 32 years.
This ordinance was issued by the Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Department of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs on Monday (November 18) night.
It is expedient and necessary to fix maximum age limit for direct recruitment in self-governing bodies including public, autonomous, semi-autonomous, statutory government authorities, public non-financial corporations, the Ordinance says.
As the Parliament is dissolved and it appears to the satisfaction of the President that the necessary conditions exist for taking urgent measures.
For that, the President has made and promulgated the following Ordinance under the powers given in Article 93(1) of the Constitution of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.
This Ordinance shall be known as the Maximum Age Limit for Direct Recruitment to Self-Governing Organizations including Government, Autonomous, Semi-Autonomous, Statutory Government Authorities, Public Non-Financial Corporations Ordinance, 2024. It will be effective immediately.
