The only fear of the Biden administration for so long was that allowing Ukraine to launch long-range missile strikes inside Russian territory would escalate the war.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has also issued a warning in this regard. He said attacks inside Russia using Western weapons would be considered “direct participation” by NATO countries in the Moscow-Ukraine war.
Former US Ambassador to NATO Kurt Volcker said that by limiting the range of US weapons used in the war, the US administration has unjustifiably imposed unilateral restrictions on Ukraine's self-defense.
The diplomat added that the decision to limit the use of ATACMS missiles was “purely arbitrary” and out of fear of provoking Russia.
