Election Commission took cognizance of BJP's video, sought reply considering it a violation of the code of conduct


Jharkhand Election 2024: On the complaint of Congress and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, the Central Election Commission directed the Jharkhand Election Commissioner to issue instructions to take action against the advertisements posted on the X and Facebook pages of the state BJP's social media team.

It was said in BJP's post, “We will transform the entire Jharkhand.” The Central Election Commission said that after looking into the complaint of Congress and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, the Election Commission found that this advertisement initially issued by Jharkhand BJP is a violation of the code of conduct.

Election Commission gave instructions to remove the advertisement

The Central Election Commission asked the State Election Commissioner to inform the social media platforms that this ad should be removed. Also, instruct the state BJP that wherever this ad has been released, it should be removed immediately.

According to the report of news agency PTI, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh has accused the Jharkhand unit of BJP of spreading “false and misleading” information on social media. He also alleged that despite a criminal case being registered in this regard, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is indulging in such a “divisive” campaign.
