7 companies obtain licenses to establish and operate call centers

Arab Finance: Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, witnessed the ceremony of granting the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority licenses to establish and operate call centers for seven of the largest companies operating in this field, namely Vodafone International Services, Raya Communications Center Services, the Egyptian Telecommunications Company for Information Systems (Exceed), and Concentrix, Capgemini Egypt, Genpact Egypt, and TTIC Egypt, according to statement cabinet.

Talaat also stressed that the relationship between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and companies working in the field of outsourcing is a successful partnership to improve the outsourcing climate in Egypt and enhance its position as an attractive destination for companies working in the field of the outsourcing industry. Pointing out the Ministry’s keenness to open a permanent dialogue with companies and work to overcome any obstacles they may face. He added that the outsourcing industry is a huge industry in the world, as there are approximately 200 international companies from different countries of the world working in the field of outsourcing in Egypt. This industry is also witnessing great strides and a desire by companies to establish or expand their centers in Egypt in light of the availability of many components. Egypt's competitiveness, including competencies and trained human cadres.

For his part, Engineer Mohamed Shamroukh, CEO of the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, stated that issuing these licenses is part of the state’s efforts to attract foreign investments into the communications and information technology sector, and comes within the framework of the agency’s strategy to strengthen the regulatory environment for the call center industry in Egypt, and it is an essential step to ensure Quality and competitiveness in this growing field.

Engineer Muhammad Shamroukh also indicated that the agency worked over the past year to develop an integrated regulatory framework that is in line with international standards and helps companies provide their services with the highest levels of efficiency. He also stressed that this regulatory framework provides specialized companies with the ability to adopt the latest technological means that support smooth and effective cross-border communication processes, and that the agency continues to develop the regulatory environment to ensure the strengthening of this vital sector and supports Egypt’s ability to attract more investments and contribute to creating job opportunities. Engineer Ahmed Al-Dhaher, CEO of the Information Technology Industry Development Authority (ITIDA), added that the launch of the new business licenses allows companies operating in the outsourcing industry and international call center services to use the latest technological means, including Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology, which It contributes to reducing business costs and reliably providing high-quality services to global customers. Al-Zaher explained that these measures come within the Authority’s efforts to ensure ease of doing business in Egypt and provide a supportive and attractive work environment for international and local companies alike, which enhances investor confidence and embodies Egypt’s firm commitment to accelerating the growth of the digital economy and enhancing its competitive capabilities in the field of outsourcing on the global stage.
