An Israeli attack on a school in the Shati refugee camp in Gaza City killed 10 Palestinians. At least 20 people were injured. Israeli forces attacked the United Nations-run Abu Asi school in northern Gaza on Saturday (November 16), doctors said. Qatar-based media Al Jazeera reported this news.
Health officials said people may still be trapped under the rubble. There was no immediate comment from Israeli officials on the attack on the UN school.
Al Jazeera's Hind Khoudri from Deir el-Balah, citing locals and witnesses, said most of the people who took refuge in the school were displaced from other parts of Gaza.
He said that proper treatment could not be provided to the injured. Hind Khoudri noted that the health situation in Gaza has become dire as a hospital in the city continues to operate.
Because northern Gaza has been under siege for over 40 days.
Palestinian health officials also said at least 30 people were killed in Israeli military strikes across Gaza on Saturday.
According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, 43 thousand 799 people have been killed since October 7 last year in the Israeli operation. The injured have exceeded at least 136,000.
