The matter of stopping celebration of Diwali in Jamia Millia Islamia University has once again gained momentum. Delhi Police has registered an FIR for stopping the celebration of Diwali on October 22, breaking the lamps, spoiling the rangoli, creating ruckus and not allowing a section of students to celebrate Diwali in the university. Students, student leaders, Bhim Army leaders and university officials have been named in the FIR. Delhi Police has intensified the identification and arrest of the accused by taking CCTV footage from the university and other places. Here, Delhi Police has rejected the complaint given by Jamia Millia administration regarding the matter. Said that no FIR is filed on the complaint of the administration.

A senior officer sitting at the Police Headquarters of Delhi Police said that in the complaint given by Jamia Millia Islamia Alumni Association of Minorities on October 25, it has been said that on the evening of October 22, Diwali, the festival of peace and harmony, was organized in the Jamia campus. During the celebration a very disturbing incident occurred. As part of the celebrations, students and staff had arranged for prayers, rangoli and lighting of lamps on the festival. During the peaceful ongoing festival, Delhi BASF President Zubair Choudhary, student Nauman Choudhary, BA passout Mubassir Mewati, Salman Mewati, belonging to Bhim Army and others disrupted the celebration of the festival with the intention of creating nuisance.

These people broke the rangoli designs and destroyed the burning lamps. In such a situation, action should be taken against such people for hurting religious sentiments. However, police officials say that after initial investigation, it has come to light that names of some people who were not present at the spot have also been registered.

Order to register FIR after investigation-

After investigation, orders have been given to register an FIR for stopping the celebration of Diwali. The ACP of the PG cell of the district had investigated the matter. Investigation was carried out for several days. If facts are found for FIR, FIR investigation has been ordered.
