Sri Lankan President Anudha Kumara is set to appoint other members of the Cabinet, including the Prime Minister, after Dishanaye's landslide victory in the general election. He will make this appointment next Monday.
Tilwin Silva, the spokesperson of National People's Power (NPP), the coalition led by Anudha who won the election, said this information.
Indian media The Hindu reported this news in a report.
NPP spokesperson told reporters, 'On Monday we will appoint cabinet members. The number of members will be limited to 25 people. But it can be 23 or 24 people.'
Reuters reported that early elections were held in Sri Lanka last Thursday. The next day, on Friday, the Election Commission of the country said that the NPP alliance in Anuradhapura has won 159 out of 225 seats in the Parliament. This is the biggest victory in the country's history.
In Thursday's election, the NPP alliance got 7 million votes, or 62 percent. Earlier, during the presidential election last September, Audha got 42 percent of the votes. Then NPP had only three seats in the parliament. He held early elections to increase his alliance's number of seats in parliament.
