Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, Advisor to the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Interim Government and the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives inaugurated the 'Shaheed Farhan Fayyaz Playground' for the physically challenged on the west side of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhawan.
Inaugurating the field on Saturday, the Youth and Sports Adviser said, 'The price of sacrifice and blood of those who were martyred in the July uprising will never be repaid. But we are trying to show as much respect as we can.'
He then informed about the plans for the upazila stadium, 'Stadiums will be built in 220 upazilas across the country. We have taken a policy decision, these 220 stadiums will be named after the martyrs of that upazila.'
Adviser Asif Mahmud also said, 'The textbook that will come in 2025, will have the valor of our martyrs written about the July uprising. Our plan is to highlight the heroism of the martyrs in the textbooks so that the July uprising can be remembered by our next generation, that effort is being taken from the Ministry of Education.
Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Dr. Rezaul Makshud Zahedi, the secretary of the Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat, attended the event as a special guest. Md. Anwar Ullah, Shaheed Farhan Fayyaz's father Shahidul Islam Bhuiyan and mother Mrs. Farhana Diba were present as guests of honour.
