Many people forget to complete the message when other important tasks come up while writing the message. To solve this problem, Meta introduced the 'Draft' feature on the messaging platform WhatsApp. The feature will help users manage unfinished messages. In a press release, WhatsApp said, this feature will find incomplete messages and present them to users. As a result, messages can be easily completed and sent to others.
With the new update, WhatsApp will show a 'draft' indicator next to any incomplete message and move the corresponding chat thread to the top of the inbox. According to the company, this feature will come in handy if users are interrupted or distracted while typing, or forget to send a message. Through this, incomplete conversations will be read before the eyes of users. As a result, important messages can be sent on time.
Earlier some incomplete messages were partially saved in WhatsApp chats. But this was largely temporary. Wasn't sure if the messages would be there after reopening the chat session. Especially when exiting the app. So many people used to write their notes app or other places to create long messages and later copy-paste the message to WhatsApp when ready to send it.
However, the message draft feature will now clearly display the incomplete message status and it will be at the top of the chat session, below any other pinned chats.
Mark Zuckerberg announced the new feature on the WhatsApp channel. “Everyone needs this feature,” he said. The draft feature will roll out globally on Android and iOS versions of WhatsApp.
Earlier this month Meta announced the launch of a 'Lists' feature for WhatsApp, which allows users to organize their inbox. This feature allows users to create custom filters, through which chats can be categorized. Such as creating separate lists or lists for family, work or neighborhood groups. Once a category is selected, only contacts within that list will be shown in the inbox.
