Amidst the Israel-Lebanon tension, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke on phone to Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday, September 30. PM Modi himself gave this information on social media.

During the conversation, PM Modi said that there is no place for terrorism in the world. It is important to contain regional tensions and ensure the safe release of all hostages. India is committed to supporting efforts for early restoration of peace and stability.

These conversations have taken place at a time when tensions have increased in West Asia after the death of Hezbollah Chief Hassan Nasrallah. So far, more than 800 people have been killed in Israeli attacks in Lebanon.

The two leaders met for the second time in 45 days. This is the second phone conversation between the two leaders in the last 45 days. Earlier on August 16, there was a phone conversation between the two leaders. Even at that time, PM Modi had asked the Israeli Prime Minister to end the war with Hamas through negotiations and diplomacy. Along with this, emphasis was also laid on immediate release of all hostages and ceasefire.

Tension increased between Israel and Hezbollah in the last 2 months On July 28, Hezbollah fired rockets at Israel. 12 Israeli people were killed in this attack. This was Hezbollah's biggest attack since the start of the Israel-Hamas war.

Hezbollah targeted a football field in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. In response to this attack, Israel carried out an airstrike in Lebanon on July 30. Hezbollah commander Haj Mohsin alias Fuad Shukar was killed in this airstrike.

After this, on September 17, there were blasts in pagers in Lebanon, in which 12 people died and thousands were injured. The day after the pager blast, on September 18, there were blasts in walkie-talkies in which 27 people died.

After the pager and walkie-talkie blast, Israel carried out an airstrike on Lebanon on September 20, in which 45 people died. Since then, Israel has fired thousands of missiles at Lebanon, killing more than 800 people.

Israel's Defense Minister Yoav Galant has asked the army to be prepared. “The elimination of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah is a very important step,” he told troops, according to the Times of Israel. We will make full use of the capabilities we have.
