Delhi's air pollution at critical levels, primary education programs closed


Air quality in India's capital Delhi has further deteriorated. This was the standard in several parts of Delhi on Friday (November 15) morning serious stage has been reached. As a result, the authorities have announced the closure of primary school education programs in the city. Level 3 alert (Graded Response Action Plan 3 or GRAP 3) is going to be in effect from 8 am to deal with pollution. Indian media Hindustan Times reported this news.

According to the report, Noida, Ghaziabad and Gurugram along with the capital have been covered by a thick layer of smog. The Cumulative Air Quality Index or Air Quality Index (AQI) has asked the central pollution monitoring agency Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) to impose restrictions in the third phase of GRAP. This includes ban on construction activities and plying of BS-3 petrol and BS-4 diesel vehicles in towns and cities.

The ban will come into force from 8 am on Friday. The Delhi government also announced that all primary school activities will remain closed until further orders due to alarming levels of pollution. However, online classes can be conducted.

According to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, the AQI in Delhi's Anand Vihar was 441 at 6 am on Thursday.

The worst air quality in Delhi that day was recorded in Bawana (455), Dwarka Sector 8 (444) and Jahangiruri (458). Air quality above 400 points means it has gone to dangerous level.
