The murder of a bride by a colleague in Brazil has created quite a stir. The deceased Cynthia Ribeiro Barbosa (38) and accused Marcelo Jr. Bastos Santos worked at a care-giver center. Marcelo slaps her when she tries to force a kiss. Enraged by this, Santos strangled him to death. This information was revealed in a report by the Brazilian media The People.
Police say that her husband used to leave this woman who was married only 8 days ago at work. Cynthia did not return home after work on the day of the incident. His phone was unreachable. Then he complained to the police station. Police started investigation based on his complaint.
Investigating police officer Carlos Alfama said, 'When we went to investigate, the ground was loose in the courtyard of a nearby building. An electric fence was broken. This makes us suspicious. We thought that he (Marcelo) tried to hide the body in a nearby building with the help of someone. But it can be seen in the CCTV footage, Marcelo did this alone.'
After investigation, the police arrested Santos. During interrogation, he confessed to killing Cynthia. Marcelo said that when he tried to kiss Cynthia, she refused and slapped him. He then strangled her to death.
According to Brazilian media G-1, Marcelo tied Cynthia's hands with diaper tape used at the care-giver center. After the murder, the body was hidden in a nearby building. Later the police found it.
Officer Carlos Alfama said, 'Marcelo thought Cynthia was dead when she fainted. Then he went to another room. But soon he realizes that Cynthia is still alive and trying to escape. Then he grabs Cynthia again. Cover his face with masking tape. He holds on like this until death by suffocation is certain.'
Cynthia's husband said that they got married 8 days ago. Every day he dropped Cynthia off at work. Even after work that day, Cynthia did not return home. His phone was unreachable. Then he complained to the police. Police started investigation based on his complaint.
