Amnesty demands an investigation into the attack on people thought to be A.League supporters at Zero Point

UK-based international human rights organization Amnesty International has called for a quick and impartial investigation into the attack on some people who were thought to be Awami League supporters at zero point in Gulistan, Dhaka, and to hold the culprits accountable.

The organization made the call in a statement on Tuesday (November 12) at the X platform of its South Asia regional office.

In the statement, the organization also urged the Bangladesh government to quickly bring those involved in the attack to justice.

Attacks on people based on political identity violate their freedom of expression, association and assembly, Amnesty said.

In the statement, the organization also mentioned, the authorities must take effective steps to protect these fundamental rights of all citizens of the country irrespective of differences in political identity.
