This feature of Apple will help to find the lost luggage

Apple's new feature will help find lost luggage at the airport. This will allow users to share the location of 'AirTag' or 'Find My' accessories with third parties including airlines. As a result, airport authorities will be able to better assist you in locating your lost luggage.

The feature will automatically turn off when luggage or other objects are detected. Apart from this, the user can also turn off the feature at any time. This feature will be valid for seven days.

If something goes missing that includes an Airtag or an Apple device, a 'Share Item Location' link can be created via the 'Find My' app on iPhone, Mac and iPad. If anyone clicks on that link, they'll see the lost device on a map. It will also show the 'time stamp' of the latest update.

Apple will partner with more than a dozen airlines in the coming months. As a result, the share item location feature can be incorporated into customer service processes to find lost bags. The list includes – Aer Lingus, Air Canada, Air New Zealand, Austrian Airlines, British Airways, Brussels Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Eurowings, Iberia, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Lufthansa, Qantas, Singapore Airlines, Swiss International Airlines, Turkish Airlines, United , Virgin Atlantic and Vueling.

Through this partnership, passengers will be able to easily track the location of their lost bags and will be more effectively incorporated into the airport's customer service process.

Apple will include more airlines in the future.

As Apple explains about security, each link can be viewed by a limited number of people. Recipients will need to provide proof with the user's 'Apple ID' or a partner email address to view the link. This means that no one can easily see this link.

One of the world's leading air transport technology companies is the International Aeronautical Telecommunications Company (SITA). The company will also include the 'Share Item Location' feature in the 'World Tracer' feature. World Tracer is the leading baggage tracking system, used by 2,800 airports and more than 500 airlines worldwide.
