Maharashtra Elections 2024: In Chimur, Maharashtra, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Tuesday (November 12) that Congress is irritated by reservation and its 'royal family' has always had the mentality that it was born only to rule the country.
Addressing a rally in Chimur ahead of the November 20 assembly elections in Maharashtra, Modi said, “This is the reason why after independence, Congress never allowed Dalits, backward classes and tribals to progress.” Said, “Congress is irritated by (the issue of) reservation.” In the 1980s, under the leadership of Rajiv Gandhi, the party published an advertisement questioning the special rights given to Dalits, backward classes and tribals.
'Congress plays a dangerous game'
PM Modi said that this old advertisement is being shared on social media. He said that this shows the anti-reservation attitude of the party. He said that the population of tribal community in the country is around 10 percent and Congress now wants to weaken the tribal society by dividing it into castes. He said, “Congress wants our tribal brothers to lose their identity as STs, the identity they have built on their strength should be disintegrated. If your unity is broken, this is a dangerous game of Congress.
'Since independence, Congress has not allowed the poor to progress'
Prime Minister Modi said that if the tribal society gets divided into castes, its identity and strength will be lost. He said, “The princes of Congress have themselves made this announcement by going abroad. That's why I say that we should not fall victim to this conspiracy of Congress, we should remain united. That's why I request you. If we remain united we will be safe.
He said, “If you do not remain united, if your unity is broken, then Congress will be the first to snatch your reservation. The royal family of Congress has always had the mentality that it was born to rule this country. That is why after independence, Congress did not allow Dalits, backward classes and tribals to move forward. Congress is irritated by reservation.
'Maha Vikas Aghadi is the biggest player of corruption'
Attacking the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), Modi accused it of being the 'biggest player of corruption' and hampering development in the state. Modi said MVA is 'harmful' for the development of Maharashtra. He said, “Maharashtra's rapid development is beyond the reach of Aghadi. He has done PhD to put brakes on development work. Congress has a double PhD in this.'' He said, ''Aghadi means the 'biggest player'' of corruption.
On the abolition of most of the provisions of Article 370 in Kashmir, Modi said that it took seven decades to ensure a single constitution for the country. He asked, “Will you allow Congress and its allies to bring Article 370 in Kashmir?”
He said, “Congress and its allies have been benefiting politically from violence and separatism. This area was burning for decades due to separatism and terrorism. The provision under which all this happened was Article 370 and this Article 370 was the legacy of Congress. As soon as we ended it, we completely integrated Kashmir with India and its Constitution.
