Apple is working on new AirPods and smart home cameras with health features. Apple's supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said these two products could hit the market by 2026.
Apple's smart home camera production will begin in 2026, Kuo said, and the company plans to sell several million units as its long-term goal. He said the camera will have wireless connectivity and support for Apple Intelligence and Siri. However, he did not mention any other specific features.
Earlier, various sources said that Apple will unveil a smart home device which is likely to be unveiled in early 2025. It is not yet certain whether the device mentioned by Tai Kuo is the same.
And about AirPods, Kuo said, the new AirPods will have more health-related features like the Apple Watch.
According to the analyst, Chinese manufacturer Goertech will serve as the main supplier of the 2026 AirPods model. GoreTech will assemble the parts of the new smart home camera.
Apple's upcoming Powerbeats Pro 2 model will offer heart rate monitoring during workouts, and this feature is likely to be added to AirPods in the future. Apple's health-focused sensors are also rumored to enable features such as body temperature measurement, and these sensors have previously been rumored for use in AirPods.
AirPods Pro 2 was unveiled this year. Which now works as a hearing aid device thanks to the software called 'Hearing Aid Feature' based on iOS 18.
